Internal
Funding for Research at UNCG
Numerous opportunities exist for
faculty to obtain support for their research programs. They
include research grants, travel, publication subsidies in
support of publication, media development and exhibitions; and
undergraduate research assistantships.
Research Grants
- The Office of Research and Public / Private Sector
Partnerships provides intramural research support in the
form of competitive grants for which faculty can apply.
These funds are to be used to initiate or enhance research,
scholarship, and creative activity to make faculty more
competitive to obtain extramural funds. There are three
types of intramural grants.
- For international research the International Program
Center offers additional support for a New Faculty Research
Grant, a Regular Faculty Research Grant, or a Summer
Excellence Research Grant through the Kohler Fund.
Application for this support is done in conjunction with an
application for a New Faculty Research Grant, a Regular
Faculty Research Grant, or a Summer Excellence Research
Grant.
- The
Linda Arnold Carlisle Faculty Research Grants
are awarded to faculty to support research or creative
activity related to women's and gender studies.
Support
is also available to assist faculty in curricular development.
Travel
- The
Scholars' Travel Fund (STF) provides faculty members
with supplemental travel funds to support presentation of
their research, scholarship, or creative activity, to serve
as chairpersons, to participate as panelists, or to
contribute in other appropriate manners at scholarly
meetings.
